Last summer, Liverpool’s Victorian Welsh Streets, one of the city’s most historic areas, underwent a wide-scale renovation project. This once run down area of uninhabited Victorian terrace houses was given a second chance to become low rent homes, making it accessible to prospective tenants. But this project didn’t come without its share of problems and it was actually unfairly facing demolition before it even started. The plans for renovation were finally accepted when the council got support from two external partners and the first 24 properties to be built became the pilot project homes to kick off the 300 strong home plan. Exceeding industry standards for thermal efficiency
