The technology behind timber effect doors has developed massively over the last decade. Believe it or not, but every one of these XtremeDoor composite door panels shown below isn’t made of timber – they’re all timber effect.
Why timber effect?
Timber effect doors are perfect for homeowners who want the charming, high-quality aesthetics of a real timber door with all the thermal benefits of modern, high-performing uPVC equivalents. They’re a great value substitute for the real thing and even from up close it’s hard to tell them apart.
Most modern timber effect doors attain such an excellent standard of authenticity that they can be used in conservation areas with no problem: perfect for homeowners with heritage. A timber effect finish is perfect to recreate a vintage, period style without the cost of real timber doors.
Timber effect doors: how they work
The ‘timber effect’ part of the door is made of GRP. This is then given a special finish to help it achieve an authentic wood appearance. GRP is the perfect outer-door material; it’s easy to clean, weatherproof and has a great lifespan.
Utilising a high quality Nan Ya slab, our timber-effect composite doors feature a high density foam core and uPVC edgebanding for increased thermal efficiency. Our doors also have multi-point locking and ‘Secured by Design’; making them an incredibly secure choice for homeowners.
